Tulip paintings

'I must have flowers, always and always' - Claude Monet. I must admit that this quote resonates with me. I always have fresh flowers around the house and in the garden and I am delighted to see so many tulips about to bud in the garden this week. When I was at Chelsea last year, Bloms Bulbs had a special offer at the show and I ordered all of mine from there. I have secret parrot, negrita and mariette and love to plant them in borders, containers and in my raised beds at the bottom of the garden. I often cut them and display in the house, as well as using them for a prop for painting. Tulip paintings bring lots of warmth and joy at this time of year and signify the beginning of the glorious season of Spring.
